For the second time in two days, a $1 million lottery ticket has been sold in the Madison area.

The Wisconsin Lottery says there was a $1 million winner in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing. Lottery officials said the $1 million ticket was sold at the Pick 'n Save store at 2502 Shopko Dr. in Madison. A $50,000 ticket was also sold in Oak Creek.

Wednesday night's winning Powerball numbers were 3, 21, 45, 53, 56 with a Powerball of 22 and a 2X Power Play. In order to win $1 million in Powerball, players have to match the 5 white balls without matching the Powerball or Power Play.

Wisconsin was one of seven states to see a million dollar winner, along with Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, and Oregon.

Powerball says there were no jackpot winners in Wednesday night's drawing, meaning the estimated value for the next drawing on Saturday will reach $750 million, with a cash value of $428.6 million.

On Tuesday, a $1 million Mega Millions ticket was sold at the Kwik Trip in Mount Horeb. It was one of 35 $1 million winners across the country in that drawing. One person in South Carolina won that jackpot, worth an estimated $1.5 billion.
