DE PERE — It's a staple for almost every bar in Northeast Wisconsin, but McGeorge's pub is using its dart board to help those affected by the recent apartment fire in De Pere.
"We figured it would be a good way to help," said Adam Robb, a bartender at McGeorge's.
Patrons and workers at the pub were some of the first to recognize the building in flames. They called authorities who got everyone to evacuate safely before the building collapsed. However, 20 people are without a home now, which is why the bar is helping once again.
"Community means everything to me," Robb said. "We need to be there for each other when things like this happen. That's one of the benefits of living in this small community."
