Prince Louis is celebrating his second birthday on April 23, and mom Kate Middleton snapped some adorable pictures of the toddler in honor of the milestone. The Duchess of Cambridge has a knack for photography, and she’s responsible for many of the royal photos released by Kensington Palace.
Having an adorable subject doesn’t hurt, as evidenced by the sweet shots of the little royal getting his tiny hands dirty with some finger painting. His art was made in honor of the U.K.’s National Health Service and other essential workers for their hard work and sacrifice during the coronavirus pandemic. Kids across the country have been creating rainbow-themed artwork as a show of support for these critical workers.
Judging by the photos taken by his mom and tweeted out by Kensington Palace, it looks like Price Louis’s contributions will make a wonderful addition to the project:

“Sharing a sneak peek of Prince Louis’s handiwork ahead of his second birthday!” read the caption. “We are pleased to share the images ahead of Prince Louis’s second birthday tomorrow, taken by The Duchess this April.”
Aww! He looks absolutely adorable, and he somehow managed to keep the colorful paint off his gingham shirt to boot! Between his painting skills and his mom’s eye for photography, it’s clear that artistic talent runs in the royal family.
His rainbow handprint painting is not the only way the little prince has shown his support for critical workers during this difficult time. On March 26, Prince Louis joined his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte in participating in the #clapforourcarers viral challenge, in which millions of people around the world took time out to applaud everyone working on the frontlines of the pandemic.
Check out the sweet video tweeted by Kensington Palace of the three royal kids clapping for the cause:

So sweet! We’re so happy to see that Prince Louis is already showing generosity at such a young age. Happy birthday!
