Fond du Lac County officers responded to the scene of a crash around 12:30 PM Monday. It happened on Highway 26 near Griffith Road in the Township of Rosendale.
According to a press release, at the scene they found a 25-year-old woman from Brandon and a 61-year-old woman from Winneconne. The 25-year-old lost control of her vehicle while driving southbound on the highway, and entered the northbound lane of travel. A northbound vehicle, driven by the 61-year-old woman, hit the other car.
The 25-year-old driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, along with a dog that had been in the car. The 61-year-old was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is currently under investigation. The names of the drivers are also being withheld as the investigation continues.
