GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26 Today) - Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich has issued a statement on coronavirus via Facebook.
He announced that he is canceling his involvement in any public events for the foreseeable future, and encourages others to do the same.
He also said that he and his family have canceled a planned trip across the country to avoid crowded airports. He says the best tool we have against COVID-19 is "social distancing," and that "we must pull together by staying a little farther apart."
Mayor Genrich added that he will be staying in touch with health officials and follow their guidance when it comes to the health of community members.
