FOND DU LAC — There’s a lot to do in Fond du Lac this weekend.

Kicking off the weekend bright and early Saturday morning is the Mercury Marine truck convoy for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

The event is a celebration of the trucking industry, in honor of trucker appreciation week. The opening ceremony begins at 8:30, and at 9:30, trucks will begin to make their way from Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac to the EAA Airventure grounds in Oshkosh.

Last year, 100 trucks participated, and the event raised almost 100,000 for the Special Olympics.

Also on Saturday, the Fond du Lac farmer’s market runs from 8 a.m. to noon, and features fresh produce and local vendors.

On Sunday, the service group Fond du Lac Evening Lionsis hosting a flea market at the Fond du Lac fairgrounds.

The market is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature antiques, collectibles, beauty products, crafts, rummage, and more.
