GREEN BAY, Wis. — Fire crews were called to the Green Bay Packaging Plant Wednesday night for reports of a fire in the bag house. That's the dust collection area of the paper mill.
When they arrived they found smoke and flames showing. The fire itself was contained in an area separate from the main building.
Fire crews did have some difficulty accessing the fire but they were eventually able to put out the fire without needing to use water. It was extinguished with the building's built-in fire protection system.
Although the fire was contained to one area, the smoke did spread, and there was some smoke damage to the main building.
There is no word yet on a cause of the fire, or the amount of damage.
