Bedtime with little kids has always been a battle, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made it even more challenging. Kids are spending long days indoors, with fewer opportunities to play with friends and get energy out during the school day, while parents are facing the stress of juggling homeschooling and working from home.
When bedtime finally arrives, parents are desperate to get their kiddos to sleep so they can have some much-needed downtime, while kids (at least mine) have gotten even more resistant to hitting the hay as they continue to try to adjust to this new normal.
Luckily, help is on the way courtesy of the familiar voices of your kids’ favorite Disney friends. From now until April 30, kids can call 1-877-7-MICKEY and hear a special goodnight message from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck or Goofy.
Their special goodnight phone calls will have your kiddos actually looking forward to bedtime!
During these cute messages, characters will help you make sure your kids are doing what they’re supposed to as they prep for bedtime.
“I bet by now you’ve brushed your teeth and gotten into your pajamas,” Mickey says (hint, hint!), before announcing that he’s heading out to take Pluto for a walk before bed. He ends with a sweet sign-off to send your kids to happy slumber: “Goodnight, pal. I hope you have sweet dreams.”
These are tough times but a cheerful phone call from a favorite character is sure to brighten your little one’s bedtime! You can also download free sleep activity cards and sleep progress charts at ShopDisney.com.
Disney has shared lots of other ways to help families stay busy and bring some Disney magic home while sheltering-in-place during the coronavirus pandemic. A new website, Disney Magic Moments, is sharing daily activities, videos, recipes and more.
Catch a bedtime story from Disney stars like Josh Gad and Tony Hale or learn to draw characters and learn to make Disney’s famous Churro Bites, a three-ingredient Dole Whip and a decadent Grilled Cheese from Woody’s Lunch Box at Walt Disney World.
Is your family doing anything special to bring some Disney magic to your home while you’re stuck inside?
