DOOR COUNTY, Wis. — Door County Sheriff's Department says officers have pulled a body the waters of Lake Michigan at Cave Point County Park. The department made the announcement on their Facebook page early Wednesday evening.
The Sheriff's Department released more information Thursday morning, saying crews recovered the body of a white male. The person is not being identified pending positive identification and notification of the next-of-kin. The Sheriff's Office says an autopsy is scheduled for later Thursday.
Back in February, 57-year-old Eric Richter of Neenah was reported missing in Door County. Authorities say he told his wife he was taking photos at Cave Point Park.
Investigators are waiting to hear back from the medical examiner’s office before they release more information.
