MILWAUKEE, Wis. — In 2018, one in four tobacco retailers in Milwaukee sold nicotine and tobacco products to minors during compliance checks.
Compliance checks consist of minors going into retailers and asking for tobacco products. If they are sold to them, police officers will go in and give a ticket to the retailers or they can choose to sign up for a program to avoid citation.
