Two buildings on Northeast Wisconsin Technical College's campus were evacuated Tuesday after an unidentifiable item was found.

The object was a plastic bottle filled with wires and an unknown substance.

The bottle was not an explosive, according to the Brown and Outagamie County Bomb Squad.

Green Bay Police received a call around 10 a.m. Tuesday about the suspicious bottle and found it on campus.

"In doing so, they immediately thought it was some sort of explosive in which we're trained and have protocols in place to evacuate that immediate area," said Capt. Kevin Warych with the Green Bay Police Department.

People in the area were told they could go back inside the buildings after several hours. The bomb squad gave police the bottle and they will be questioning people to determine why it was outside the building.
