Record Breaking Heat Sticks: NBC 26 Weather Forecast - May 12, 2022 AM

Posted

The warmest temperatures of the year are still here! After setting record high temperatures for May 12th at 94° in Green Bay, today holds more heat. Highs are expected to soar back into the upper 80s and low 90s, alongside gusty south winds at 25mph. Muggy air and wildfire smoke may effect sensitive groups, who will need to limit their time outside. Also, beware of signs of heat exhaustion. Remember to stay hydrated and cool! Chances for strong to severe storms fire up this afternoon, with the main risks of large hail, damaging winds and torrential downpours that may cause flooding.

Cooler and more average temperatures sink back in for the weekend, with 80s on Saturday and 70 by Sunday. Chances for showers and storms still linger.

Below average temperatures and dry weather are expected to kick off your work week!
