Start that car before you head out the door! It's a crisp and chilly morning as we are waking up to lower/upper teens and a few flurries flying.

Highs will climb into the mid and upper 20s, with southeast winds at 5 mph. Lakeside locations will climb into the lower 30s. A few flurries are possible during the day, with less than 1/2" expected to accumulate.

As we close out 2021, high temperatures will rise mild, into the upper 20s, with mostly cloudy skies.

Our attention focuses on a snow storm for New Years Day. Right now, it appears that the heaviest amount of snow in excess of 8+ will fall in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Snow accumulation does appear likely for the southern half of the viewing area, mainly south of Highway 29. Areas like Fond du Lac and Sheboygan may see totals potentially reaching 3-6 inches but could be a measly 1-2", so this is still a system to watch.
