Papermakers top Phantoms 9-4, Kimberly makes 5th consecutive trip to State

The Kimberly Papermakers are heading back to State for a 5th consecutive season following a 9-4 victory over the Phantoms of West De Pere.

The Makers needed to win back to back games this afternoon to keep that dream alive, after topping Hortonville 7-6 in the 1pm game.  Jordan Purdy playing a big roll in both contest, Purdy hit 2 a RBI walk off single to beat the Polar Bears and then closed out the Phantoms from the mound with a strikeout.

Kimberly will begin their Division 1 title defense against Green Bay Preble in the Quarterfinals June 12 at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute Wisconsin.
