GREEN BAY — The Packers had two picks (22 & 28) in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and with those two picks Green Bay picked teammates from the University of Georgia.

At pick 22, Green Bay selected linebacker Quay Walker. The linebacker started in every game for the Bulldogs over the last two college seasons. In 2021, he had the third-most tackles on the team with 67.

"As soon as I saw the call and it said, 'Green Bay, Wisconsin,' at that point I knew what it was and got really, really emotional and just started crying from that point on," Walker said of his reaction to being drafted. "I'm just happy they believed in me."

At pick 28, the Packers selected his teammate, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt. The 6'3" 315lbs defensive tackle had 39 total tackles, the most among interior lineman and had 27 quarterback pressures.

"I'm very happy. I'm very confident, I'm just ready to go ball."

Wyatt on his relationship with Walker:

"We're real deal brothers," he said. "Once he saw me get picked, he was the first person to call me. We're just so excited. We're just ready to go to Green Bay and help the team. Just learn the books and become a great player for the Packers.

Green Bay has now selected a Georgia Bulldog with their last three first round picks. Cornerback Eric Stokes was drafted by the Packers in the 2021 NFL Draft.
