Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews is one of the millions nationwide watching the destructive wildfires passing through Southern California. He's also one of the thousands that are immediately impacted.
Matthews has a home in the Calabasas area where many homes have been lost to the fires. He said he had briefly lost communication with his parents which he described as "nerve-wrecking."
"[The fire] came all the way up to our gates in our development and with the mandatory evacuation, I had no one to report on... I told my wife - are we really going to lose our house or not."
A neighbor has since sent him a picture of his house still standing, and his parents are alright.
