WIAA girl's state basketball tournament in town

The WIAA Girl's state basketball tournament kicked off in Ashwaubenon Thursday. 

Appleton North, Hortonville and Manitowoc Lutheran learned their WIAA state tournament semifinal seeds Sunday.

Appleton North (22-4), the defending Division 1 state champ, earned a No. 4 seed and will face top-seeded Arrowhead (24-2) Friday night.

Hortonville (20-6) is seeded fourth and will play Division 2 defending champion Beaver Dam Friday afternoon. The Golden Beavers (23-2) defeated West De Pere Saturday and are the top Division 2 seed.

No. 3 Manitowoc Lutheran (21-4) will make its first state tournament appearance when it takes on No. 2 Melrose-Mindoro (26-0) Thursday night.

Thursday, March 8:

  • 1:35 p.m.: Division 3 Semifinals 
  • 3:15 p.m.: Division 3 Semifinals (St. Thomas More Vs. Amherst)
  • 8:15 p.m.: Division 4 Semifinals (Manitowoc Lutheran Vs. Melrose-Mindoro)

Friday, March 9:

  • 9:05 a.m.: Division 5 Semifinals 
  • 10:45 a.m.: Division 5 Semifinals (Clayton Vs. Bangor)
  • 1:35 p.m.: Division 2 Semifinals (Beaver Dam Vs. Hortonville)
  • 6:35 p.m.: Division 1 Semifinals (Arrowhead Vs. Appleton North)

Saturday, March 10:

  • 9:30 a.m.: 3-Point Challenge
  • 11:05 a.m.: Divisions 5, 4, 3 Championships
  • 6:35 p.m.: Division 1 and 2 Championships
