GREEN BAY — A battle of No. 1 versus No. 2 for the girl's Division One state basketball title. Kettle Moraine out of Wales earned the top spot heading into the tournament and faced off against second-seeded Appleton East.
Kettle Moraine controlled the game throughout on their way to a 69-53 victory over the Patriots to win the state title.
Lasers' Grace Grocholski had a game-high 34 points and 9 rebounds. She made 15 out of 16 from the free-throw line.
Patriots Emily LaChapell finished her career with a team-high 19 points.
