GREEN BAY, Wis. — According to the Wisconsin Public Service website, customers in three counties experienced power outages Thursday morning.

The power outage started around 4:40 a.m. and is expected to be restored by 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

The three counties include Calumet, Marinette and Oconto counties with more than 2,500 customers without power.

The Spokesman for Wisconsin Public Service, Matt Cullen, said each outage was caused by a downed power line and it's believed the frigid weather contributed to each line coming down. Cullen adds that the system overall performs very wee and continues to serve customers reliably in the extremely cold temperatures.

The Calumet County Sherrif's Department posted on social media that the power outage in Chilton is impacting its Dispatch Center. They say they're operating on generator power and that the 911 lines are working, but the non-emergency phone lines are not functioning at this time.

The City of Chilton says they are making arrangements for a warming shelter.
