Firefighters found a second-floor apartment on fire when they were called to the 500 block of South Water Street in Sheboygan around 7:00 Sunday night. Fire units were able to contain the fire to a single room.
A civilian was trapped on the second-floor balcony and had to be rescued by ladder. That person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Three tenants were displaced because of water, fire, and smoke damage. The second-floor apartment also sustained significant damage.
