People living in Winnebago County will soon have a new way to anonymously report crimes.
Winnebago Countywide Crime Stoppers is launching a new mobile app Monday called P3, which stands for "public, police and private sector." Those are the three key elements of the Crime Stoppers network, Crime Stoppers wrote in a press release.
Tipsters will be able to submit a tip or update an existing tip. The app will also let people upload video, photos, screen shots and audio.
The app's launch will eliminate Crime Stoppers' option to text in tips. However, people can still call the hotline at (920) 231-8477 or submit a tip online here.
