There was a strange discovery in Waupaca County Wednesday.
Deputies on snowmobile patrol found a weather station that appears to have crashed on the Wolf River in Weyauwega.
It appears it was connected to a parachute.
Deputies said the GPS tracking device was part of a research project that had been deployed from Sioux Falls, South Dakota earlier in the day.
