A Greenleaf teen pleaded no contest Monday to a July 2016 crash that killed two people in New Denmark.

Devon Robley, 19, pleaded no contest to two counts of negligent homicide by operating a vehicle in Brown County court.

Robley told investigators he was smoking marijuana at Fonferek's Glen in Brown County in July 2016, according to court documents.

After leaving, Robley was driving in New Denmark when he ran a stop sign at Glenmore Road and County Highway X, crashing into an SUV, court document said.

He told police he was driving almost 70 mph, according to court documents.

Robley's 16-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died. A 32-year-old woman in the SUV Robley hit also died.

The judge said a person can be sentenced for 10 years on both counts. Robley will be sentenced January 5.
