WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- Governor Tony Evers announced four Wisconsin citizens who were aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship are back in the state.
He said they got back late Friday night and landed at the Nataional Guard's Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center in Camp Douglas. From there, they were taken back to their homes for self-quarantine.
There were originally 38 Wisconsin citizens aboard the cruise ship, which had confirmed coronavirus cases. According to Evers, all 38 people were asymptomatic and have not tested positive for coronavirus.
The Grand Princess cruise ship docked in the Port of Oakland last week. The first group of 29 returned to Wisconsin late March 15. Two of the original 38 decided to remain in quarantine in Texas under the custody of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Evers added, the last three people from the original 38 Wisconsinites are self-quarantined in California. Two are under custody of DHHS and the other one is choosing to stay, citing personal reasons.
There are no more pending transports of Grand Princess cruise ship passengers for the Wisconsin Nation Guard.
