Clintonville Police have released more details about the search for a missing 16-year-old.
Austin Arnold was last seen by his parents at their Clintonville home on Tuesday, June 21st around noon.
Police are treating this as a runaway situation, according to Clintonville Police Chief James Beggs. At this time they don't know why Arnold may have run away. Arnold's parents had no reason to believe he was going to take off, Chief Beggs said.
Police have not organized a community search party yet because Arnold may be in possession of a firearm, according to a news release from the Clintonville Police Department.
There is no reason to believe that Arnold is in danger from anyone else, or a danger himself to the public.
Investigators have searched social media records, Arnold's email accounts and cell phone activity with no results.
The Waupaca County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the search. So far, the departments have searched areas to the North and West of Clintonville with no success.
Arnold is described as about 6 feet tall with dark hair and a slender build. He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts.
Arnold's parents issued a statement which can be watched in the video box above. They're asking for his safe return home, saying they love him and are scared.
There is no word on if Arnold is alone or with someone else.
