Nine people have been displaced and two people were hurt in a fire Sunday morning.
The Appleton Fire department along with Neenah-Menash Fire Rescue were called to the 1100-block of E. Roeland Ave. for a fire at a duplex.
Crews on scene say the fire could be seen on the first and second floor of the building.
Everyone was able to escape, but two people suffered injuries from burns and smoke inhalation.
The Gold Cross Ambulance provided treatment to two residents who sustained burns and smoke inhalation. They were treated and transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. A total of nine people, five residents from one side of the duplex and four from the other are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
Initial damage estimates are $175,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
