GREEN BAY (NBC 26) - Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a local non-profit has lost more than half of their income due to shutdowns.

The YWCA in Green Bay says the shutdown has cost them at lest $75,000 in lost revenues; but the organization has not stopped working. Right now their goal is to open their childcare services April 6th; but they need 34 committed kids in order to do so.

"Our big goal is to make sure the essential workers we have a relationship with, and community members, the folks that are essential have a place for their children to be safe and well cared for while they're doing the things they need to support the community," said Renita Robinson, the CEO and Development Director.

The non-profit is following the rules and restrictions in place. They have about 15 spots open for infants to older than 5-years-old. If you're in need of childcare, contact them at sbucio@ywca.org

Robinson adds, "We're going to land on two feet. There's another side of where we are right now and it will be a challenge. I think real fruit grows in the valley of challenge. We want people to be encouraged by what we're trying to do in the community."
