The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) is reminding drivers and motorcycle riders to be on extra alert for deer on roadways.
Deer activity usually increases during May and June as female deer search for places to give birth and young deer separate from their mothers. The DOT says the best thing drivers can do to protect themselves is to buckle up, slow down and scan the road carefully.
Deer can be seen at any time, but are more active in the early morning and evening hours.
