Virus hits City of Oshkosh computer systems

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- The City of Oshkosh is recovering from a virus that impacted the city's internal computer systems Tuesday morning.

Currently, the City says its website and email services are not operational. The City is working to investigate the cause of the virus. Staff is also working on data recovery.

Public services are continuing, including Public Safety, Utility Services, Garbage/Recycling Pickup and Snow Removal. The 911 system is operational.

The City says the Oshkosh Common Council Meeting will occur as scheduled at 6 p.m. at City Hall, Room 406, but will not be broadcast or streamed live on cable, radio, or online. It will be recorded and available to view on the Oshkosh Media YouTube channel after the meeting convenes.

The City says those who wish to pay their tax bill this week to do so at Associated Bank (located at 10 W. Murdock Avenue and 444 N. Sawyer Street), Community First Credit Union (2424 Westowne Avenue and 1492 W. South Park Avenue), or to send payment to City Hall at P.O. Box 1128, Oshkosh, WI 54903.
