In addition to closing campuses and moving courses to an online platform, local universities are also canceling graduation ceremonies.
On Friday, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay announced it has canceled its on-campus spring commencement ceremony and is working to reimagine a celebration honoring graduates. he University was slated to hold its 101stcommencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
"There may not be an in-person ceremony, but there will be a celebration,” said Interim Chancellor Sheryl Van Gruensven.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh announced Wednesday that there will be no face-to-face spring commencement due to concerns over coronavirus.
"Over the coming weeks we will consider our options, including the possible scheduling of an alternative date for the ceremonies," the university said in a statement.
Additionally, the school will begin alternative delivery of courses beginning March 30 and running through the spring term, ending June 5. Also, students in residence halls on the Oshkosh campus are required to return to their permanent residence unless they provide adequate justification for staying.
Beginning Monday, March 23, and until further notice, only employees needed to deliver necessary campus services that cannot be completed through telecommuting will physically remain on UWO campuses.
