APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The City of Appleton confirmed Thursday a 15th case of coronavirus in the city.

According to a news release from the city, there are currently eight residents in isolation, six who had COVID-19 who have been released from isolation and one who has passed away from the virus.

The city says the most recent case lives in the Calumet County portion of the city and is in isolation. The case was acquired through community spread.

Appleton says its health department is conducting contact investigations to identify and follow-up with any people who had close contact with the sick person. Close contacts will be educated about self-monitoring their health status by our health department nurses. They will be required to do daily symptom and temperature checks; as well as quarantine themselves for 14 day as a precaution.
