CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (NBC26) -- Clintonville Police are warning the public about a scam involving their phone number.
Scammers have found a way to use the Clintonville Poice Department's non-emergency phone number and make it appear on your Caller ID.
The name "Clintonville Police" and the phone number 715-823-3117 is showing up on Caller ID's.
The individual or recording states it is Terry Lorge and you have a warrant for your arrest.
If you receive a call stating this information, it is not the Clintonville Police Department.
Do not give any personal information out over the phone.
Police say if you actually have a warrant for your arrest they will send a real uniformed officer to your house to speak with you in person.
