GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- A Delta plane slid off the end of the taxiway at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport Saturday morning.

Delta Airlines said the plane partly left the taxiway due to icy conditions. They say their maintenance teams will inspect the plane for potential damages. All 101 of their passengers were safely deplaned and bused back to find another flight.

Flight 1770 was headed for Atlanta. We talked to a few of the passengers who were on the flight. They said it was pretty frightening.

"It's pitch black out there, you couldn't really see out the windows, you could just feel it," said Jim Vannieuwenhoven.

Passenger Jeff Tilkens said he knew something was wrong because the plane wasn't going in a straight line.

"Like when you're sliding in a car on ice, that's what it felt like. You weren't in control so you're just hanging on," Tilkens said. "You weren't sure what was going to happen. If you're going to tip over completely."

The passengers said the tires of the plane got stuck in the mud, with the left wing about a foot off the ground and the other about 10 feet in the air. They say no one got hurt.
