OSHKOSH, Wis. (NBC26) -- Fire prevention week happens every year as a reminder to plan ahead for the unthinkable.
The Oshkosh Fire Department will once again be traveling from home to home in different neighborhoods in Oshkosh to hand out smoke alarms and check current alarms in the homes.
The Public Information Officer with Oshkosh Fire, John Holland, says it can save a life just by planning ahead and making sure you have working smoke alarms.
