GREEN BAY (NBC26) - A new event is helping student and community veterans get their questions answered.
Tuesday, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College hosted their first Student Veterans Resource Day. They brought multiple local resources in so students could get on-the-spot help about state, federal and local benefits.
"‘I've got this disability claim and I think it needs to be increased, where do I start?’ Or ‘Hey, I’d like to sell my house and buy a new one, what are the options for mortgages?’ Or ‘I think we could really use some marriage counseling at home,’ for whatever reason, maybe something to do with their transition. They can just stop in and get the information they need and it’s super convenient,” explained Andrea Fox, NWTC’s school certifying official for veterans’ education.
NWTC services more than 500 veterans and dependants. They say not only students are welcome to these events in which they're looking to host quarterly.
