NEW Zoo animals cared for during coronavirus closure

SUAMICO (NBC 26) -- What do zoo animals do while no one is watching?

NBC 26 went to the NEW Zoo and Adventure Park on Thursday to find out.

Even though the zoo is shut down to visitors now, life for the animals of course goes on.

“We're of course [are] providing lots of enrichment, and their keepers provide social interaction for them, too. Most of the animals have other critters living with them, so no body looks to be suffering from this, but it's something that is definitely a change," explained Carmen Murach, Curator of Animals.

Zoo officials say it affects all the animals differently.
