NEAR GREEN LAKE, Wis. — A 27-year-old Michigan man died in a crash Monday morning, according to Green Lake County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff’s Office says the crash was reported at around 7:44 a.m. on Cth. A north of Illinois Ave., just east of the City of Green Lake.

The crash was described as a near head-on crash between a 2018 Mack refuse truck and a 2014 Dodge pickup. The driver of the Dodge was pinned from the crash. Crews worked to pull the man from the crash and fly him to a Fox Valley hospital; he was later pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Dodge crossed the center line and crashed into the on-coming refuse truck. The Dodge driver was a 27-year-old man from Ludington, Michigan. The Sheriff's Office says an adult passenger in the 2014 Dodge was injured, however, not seriously. The driver of the other truck has been identified as a 44-year-old Beaver Dam man who was uninjured.

The Sheriff’s Office says the names of everyone involved in the crash will be released on Tuesday.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The Sheriff’s Office say Cth.A at the crash site was closed for crash reconstruction until approximately 3:30pm. Cth.A is now open to traffic.
