GREEN BAY, Wis. — September 23rd kicks off National Diaper Need Awareness Week. There are several counties throughout Northeast Wisconsin recognizing the week including Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago and Waushara Counties .

"A stable diaper supply, which can be up to 10 diapers a day per child, keeps children healthy and allows families to work or go to school instead of pursuing supplies or staying home because they don't have supplies to provide to caretakers." explained Stephanie Bowers, founder of the nonprofit, Jake's Diapers.

On a monthly basis, Jakes currently serves more than 1,000 babies and their families throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

As part of the effort to raise awareness and provide additional diapers to those in need, Jake's Diapers has launched an online fundraising campaign on Caring Crowd. Funds raised will be used to purchase additional diaper supplies.
