WINNEBAGO CO. (NBC 26) -- One local man is getting his steps in while maintaining social distancing. He's walking 50 miles around his house to help raise money for frontline workers of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Nathanial Carroll says this is part of the 'Around the House in 50', a run/walk endurance challenge around his house.

"According to my calculations I will need to circle the house 5000 times," Carroll writes. "Our hope is that this will serve as an opportunity to highlight what is possible during times of restriction in our personal lives and routines. We hope to inspire people to focus on what can be accomplished 'around the house' during this time of uncertainty."

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office posted a picture of Carroll partway into his walking.

Saturday morning Carroll started the 50 mile trek. According to Facebook, around 8:45 p.m., Carroll announced he'd finished the challenge!

The donations raised will support the Oshkosh COVID-19 Relief Fund and supplies for local law enforcement.
