Day 5 of Sturgeon Spearing is in the books.
As expected by the DNR, harvest numbers increased on the Winnebago system.
There were 14 fish speared on Lake Winnebago and 12 on the Upriver Lakes.
The total number of sturgeon speared on day 5 was 26.
Of the 12 fish harvested from the Upriver Lakes, 2 were adult females. This means they are currently 21 adult females away from the 90% trigger.
The DNR said they expect the season to last into the weekend.
The largest fish harvested Wednesday was 87.1 pounds and 72.2 inches long.
It was registered at Jim and Linda's by Tom Walters of Oshkosh.
