GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) - Two people are forced out of their home after a fire breaks out at a Green Bay duplex.

Green Bay Metro Fire Department officials say heavy smoke was billowing out of the home at 401 Silver Spring Drive just after 7:00 Tuesday night.

Crews say the fire could be seen through the living room windows. The damage was contained to the living room area but the unit suffered major heat and smoke damage.

The other side of the duplex was undamaged.

The two adults displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross. Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.

GBMFD says estimated damage to the house is around $100,000.
