MENASHA (NBC 26) -- There are so many places to explore in Wisconsin and one of the hidden gems in Northeast Wisconsin is nestled right in Menasha. The Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is a non-profit that focuses on outdoor education and preserving wildlife.
There is roughly three and half miles of trails on the 76 acre property. The Nature Center is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the trails are still open with many people taking advantage of being able to safely social distance.
A reminder to everyone out on the trails to make sure you always give space to the animals. The Director of Education, Luke Schiller, says they like to remind people to 'Keep Wildlife Wild.' He says there are several signs out on the trails to remind everyone.
