WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- Daylight Saving Time means changing clock times, but emergency services also remind you to change smoke and carbon monoxide alarm batteries.
According to local fire departments, it's important to change smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries twice a year. They say the start and end of Daylight Saving Time is the perfect reminder as you're changing your clock's time.
For those who plan on going out drinking Saturday night, Appleton police explain bars must still close by 3:30 a.m. as per State Statute. The time change officially happens at 2 a.m. Sunday.
This weekend when you "Spring Ahead" and change your clocks please remember to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

One more hour of daylight coming soon. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead. It's a great time to check your smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, weather radios and emergency supply kits. #beprepared pic.twitter.com/dizjXamxcu
