GREEN BAY, Wis (NBC26) -- The "Cycling Santa's" are coming to town with a purpose.

Friday, December 13th the Santas return to downtown Green Bay to raise money for charity. This year they're raising funds for 4th H.O.O.A.H. and for a little Green Bay area boy with a rare conditions requiring multiple surgeries.

The route starts at 728 Lombardi Avenue. If you'd like to get involved just meet there with a bike and $20 to go towards the charities. The ride gets started at 6:45 p.m. to the Sardine Can. The goal is to be to the Sardine Can by 7 p.m. The route continues to Keggers, Jills, Simonets, Cock and Bull and Downtown Washington Street.

Last year the group raised more than $4000 to benefit local charities.

This year the funds will go to support 4th H.O.O.A.H. and Paxton Melnarik.

4th H.O.O.A.H works to support veterans and prevent veteran suicide through several charity fundraisers.

Paxton Melnarik was born with a genetic condition called ‘Syndromic Craniosynostosis with a NFIX gene variant’. What that means is the ‘soft spots’ in his skull closed too early resulting in not enough room for his brain to grow due to not having enough space. Paxton has needed many surgeries to help expand his skull to fit his growing brain. His first surgery was at 3.5 months old and he had his 4th skull surgery in August, with another one to follow in November of this year. He right now is working on recovering at home.

If you can not make it to the event there is a "Pints for Paxton" event the same night at Badger State Brewing. You can also donate to the family through their GOFUNDME page.
If you already have plans, but still want to donate, checks can be written out to Packer Fastener and mailed to their location at 728 Lombardi Ave, Green Bay, WI 54304. Please just put in the "reason for check line" for the "cycling santas"
