Classroom quarantined after a positive Covid-19 test at a De Pere elementary school

DE PERE, Wis. (NBC 26) -- A classroom of elementary students and staff have been forced into quarantine after an individual tested positive for Covid-19 at a De Pere elementary school.

According to a release from the Unified School District of De Pere, an individual atHeritage Elementary Schooltested positive for the virus and has been quarantined. All students and staff in the classroom where the person attended will also be quarantined for at least 14 days.

The district said they are working with the De Pere Health Department and are taking the steps necessary to protect the health of students and staff.

Classes for all other students at Heritage will resume Tuesday morning.

The release said families will not be directly contacted by the district or the health department if a child was not in direct contact with the person who tested positive for the virus. If families have questions they said to contact the Unified School District of De Pere.
