GREEN BAY -- It was a tough year for many residents in Green Bay. Flooding forced numerous evacuations, and residents went days before being able to return to their homes.

Some residents however say the communication with city officials was poor.

"Communication was awful," said Linda Januce, who was evacuated from her home near the East River in March. "I left a one in the morning. I was up by Frank and Pats pizza in the car freezing till 4:00 and no one came around."

The city improvement services committee approved a plan to meet with public works, police and fire and go over the incidents of 2019, and figure out how to have better communication

"Communication was slow and it was disjointed," said Alder-person Bill Galvin. "Police officers knew there was some flooding going on, it wasn't passed up the chain of command."

They hope by the time evacuations happen again, authorities can have better communication with residents.
