BROWN CO> (NBC 26) -- Brown County Parks, in conjunction with WI State Parks, is temporarily offering a voluntary fee to certain trails in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
A voluntary trail pass fee means users can select to not pay the fee and still enjoy benefits the trail has to offer without being in violation, according to Brown Co. Parks.
“Our community is well-aware of the newly adopted social distancing requirements, and parks are a great place to escape the confines of our home or office,” Parks Director Matt Kriese said. “Outdoor recreation allows residents to stay healthy, active and mentally strong through this process. A temporary trail pass fee waiver allows everyone to get outside without having to handle pass envelopes and limits staff interaction with the public.”
Temporary fee waivers for Brown Co. trails will apply to Devils River Trail, Fox River Trail, and Mountain-Bay Trail.
People should not congregate on the trails in groups of 10 or more in accordance with Governor Ever's statewide ban on all public gatherings.
If you wish to continue to support the trails, fees may voluntarily be paid online at the Brown Co. Parks website.
