BROWN CO. (NBC 26) -- Brown County officials announced Saturday that all essential workers in the county would be eligible for free COVID-19 testing as of Monday.
“We are pleased to be able to expand our community testing to all of our essential workers, regardless of whether or not they have any symptoms of COVID-19,” Brown Co. Executive Troy Streckenbach said. “These are the people who are keeping our community moving and operating.”
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has a comprehensive list of essential workers, as outlined in Gov. Evers’ “Safer at Home” order. CLICK HERE to read the full list.
“This is another important step in stopping the spread and flattening the curve,” added Streckenbach.
The two current community testing sites are at The Resch Center in Ashwaubenon and the CASA Alba in downtown Green Bay. Both are open Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. and Saturday from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. They are not open on Sunday.
Essential workers who would like a COVID-19 test are asked to schedule an appointment by going to StayHealthyBC.com or by calling 2-1-1 Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
Both sites, which will be operational through Saturday, May 16, offer drive through and walk up appointments. Translation services (Spanish, Hmong and Somali) are also available.
