Berlin Police say a driver hit another driver in the head with a pistol during road rage fight

BERLIN, Wis. — A Green Lake man is facing criminal charges after police say he hit another man in the head with a pistol during a road rage fight.

On Wednesday morning, Berlin Police say officers responded to reports of an assault with a handgun during a road rage incident at the intersection of Mound St. and Franklin St. in the City of Berlin. Police say two drivers got into a fight in the roadway.

During the fight, police say a 64 year old Green Lake man pulled a 9 mm pistol from his pocket and threatened the other driver. The other driver told police that as he retreated he was struck in the back of the head with the pistol.

Police arrested the 64-year-old man and took him to jail. is being held in the Green Lake Co. Jail without bond, and is awaiting his initial appearance in Green Lake Co. Circuit Court. Police say charges have been filed with the Green Lake Co. District Attorney’s Office.
