SUAMICO (NBC 26) -- The Brown County Parks Department says several park areas closed Thursday night rather than Saturday morning for the Wisconsin 9-day Deer Gun Season.
Initially stated to close Saturday at sunrise, the Parks Dept. issued a new statement Thursday saying several of their trails will be closing that night.
These areas included the Reforestation Camp's Horse Trails and Mountain Bike Trails, as well as the Horse Trails at Neshota Park and the Fox River Trail. The Fox River Trail will remain open to pedestians, in-line skaters, skateboarders and bikers so long as the weather permits.
The aforementioned closed Horse and Mountain Bike Trails will all reopen to the public December 1st at sunrise.
If you are looking visit during these nine days, it is recommended to wear blaze orange for your safety. While hunting is prohibited on both the Fox River Trail and Mountain-Bay Trail, it may be open on adjourning property and wearing the blaze orange will make sure you are seen and safe,
